WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS DOES KB NELSON CONSTRUCTION HANDLE? KB Nelson Construction provides custom home construction, remodeling, additions, commercial construction, barns and specialty structures, decks, epoxy flooring, general repairs and other residential and commercial construction services. Our Cabin Creek Cabinetry division also provides custom cabinetry and millwork.
WHAT AREAS DOES KB NELSON SERVE? We are based in Cody, Wyoming, and generally serve projects located within approximately a two-hour drive of Cody. Projects outside that area may be considered individually based on their size, scope and scheduling requirements.
DOES KB NELSON HAVE A MINIMUM PROJECT SIZE? We do not have a fixed minimum project size. We try to help whenever we can, whether a customer needs a smaller repair, a major remodel or a complete custom home. Availability depends on the project’s scope, location and schedule.

CAN KB NELSON HELP WITH DESIGN AND PLANNING? Yes. For smaller or less complex projects, we can provide basic in-house design and planning services. This helps establish a clear scope, confirm that everyone understands the proposed work and ensure the finished project reflects what the customer expects. Some in-house design work may require a reasonable fee, which will be discussed before the work begins. When a project requires architectural, engineering or other specialized professional services, we can help coordinate those services or direct the customer to the appropriate qualified professional.
ARE CONSULTATIONS AND ESTIMATES FREE? Initial consultations and standard estimates are typically free. Professional inspections, written reports, extensive analysis or unusually large numbers of separate estimates may require a fee. Any charge will be discussed and approved before that work begins.
DOES KB NELSON BUILD CUSTOM HOMES? Yes. We build custom homes designed around the owner’s property, needs, budget and vision. We can help coordinate the project from early planning through construction and final completion.
DOES KB NELSON HANDLE REMODELING AND ADDITIONS? Yes. We complete residential and commercial remodeling, additions, renovations and improvement projects. We can evaluate existing conditions and help determine a practical scope of work.
DOES KB NELSON OFFER CUSTOM CABINETRY? Yes. Cabin Creek Cabinetry, a division of KB Nelson Construction, provides custom kitchens, bathroom vanities, built-ins, closets, mudrooms, trim and architectural millwork.
ARE PERMITS, INSPECTIONS AND RELATED FEES INCLUDED? When permits or inspections are required, KB Nelson identifies those requirements during estimating. Applicable permits, required inspections and associated fees are ordinarily included in the project estimate unless specifically stated otherwise.
DOES KB NELSON PERFORM COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION? Yes. KB Nelson performs commercial construction, renovations, tenant improvements and specialty commercial projects
DOES KB NELSON USE SUBCONTRACTORS? Our experienced team self-performs much of the construction work. When a project requires a specialized trade, we coordinate qualified local subcontractors. We have established working relationships with many subcontractors throughout the area and select them based on their experience, qualifications, workmanship, reliability and business practices. This allows us to assemble the right team for each project while remaining the client’s primary point of contact.
IS KB NELSON LICENSED AND INSURED? Yes. KB Nelson Construction is licensed for residential and commercial construction in Wyoming and Montana, as well as in the applicable cities and local jurisdictions throughout our working area. We are properly insured for the work we perform, and certificates of insurance can be provided when required
HOW WILL I RECEIVE PROJECT UPDATES? We use a professional construction management platform to organize project information and keep clients informed. Depending on the project, clients may receive access to estimates, approvals, progress photographs, documents, invoices and other relevant project updates.
WHAT WARRANTY DOES KB NELSON PROVIDE? KB Nelson provides a standard one-year workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties on products and materials may also apply according to their individual terms.
